The amd64 port does not support 2.4 kernels (they have many amd64
related bugs and upstream does not backport fixes for amd64
to the 2.4 kernel series anymore).
Hopefully sarge will be released soon and pergolesi can be upgraded to
sarge and use the official amd64 2.6 kernel which is part of the
sarge i386 distribution?
