Mobo is a Gigabyte GA-K8NS Pro from the K8 Triton series.
Some extra info from the manual that might help:
on-Board Sound: ALC850 CODEC (UAJ)
On-Board LAN: Built-n Marvell 8001 (10/100/1000 Mbit)
Chipset: nVIDIA nForce 3 250

I tried:

This machine is not mission-critical and I am looking forward to getting
it working with amd64 port. I have ordered some Ubuntu CDs but I am
really happy with Debian.
