 Not all boards have the SATA on a 32/33 PCI bus.  e.g. NVidia's NForce3 250
chipset has SATA right in the chipset, where it's right on the
hypertransport bus from the CPU.  Unfortunately, the only drivers for the
gigE NIC in that chipset are binary-only or reverse-engineered :(  Same for
the audio, AFAIK.  Apparently the SATA driver is Free, though.
