by the way, i have an k8v-deluxe, with an ati radeon 9800 pro but i dont
get the xserver/xfree started up. kde and x-server-core and that should
be installed.

i am really a debian newbie though.

how to make this work? do i need any special drivers or compiling stuff?
xf86config or what that tool is called displayed a generic radeon card
and i selected that and some basic monitor type and that.

running startx i get some xdmxprt segfault errors.

during bootup the last few lines say: starting x display manager:
xdmXprt ... segfault at .....

any hints?
