amd64 installer (Debian From Scratch)

Thank you for your recent inquiry. And I am sorry for not responding to you
immediately. I am testing my own kernel configuration. And there seem
serious bugs in 2.6.6 kernel(i386 but I am also suspicios about x86_64); thus
I am waiting for 2.6.7 release to come out soon. I hate patching. My
development plan at this point of time is:
   1. Test kernel configuration for dual opteron system with 2GB in 32-bit
mode. I will test a system with 4GB setting.
   2. Test kernel configuration in 64-bit mode.
I cannot use amd64 developers kernel because they insist on usage of SATA
SCSI, and I refuse it. I know libata is good to hide some bugs in SATA, but
I do not want to use lvm. And I love possibility of 63rd partition open.

Before 2.6.7 is released, I expect amd64 environment further improve; thus we
can enjoy the full benefit of debian 64 soon, I believe. Thank you to amd64
developper.

Frankly speaking I do not like grub because of its relative disk name
convention. For example, I use /dev/hda, and /dev/hde. But because of one
reason or another, I install /dev/hdb disk. And I use /dev/hde as a boot
disk device. Then I have to reconfigure grub to boot from /dev/hde, don't I?
