None of the above. For the architecture, choose Opteron. The only way I was able to compile a 32 bit Opteron kernel was on another x86 box. I could only get the Opteron to boot under the Debian from Scratch x86_64 kernel and configuring/compiling a 32 bit kernel under that never worked (even with linux32). I've attached my 2.6.6 .config for reference... > Sorry if this is not the best place to ask, but if I want to use an > official 2.6 Debian kernel in Sarge for an Opteron today, which kernel > sub-architecture should I choose? > - k7 > - 686 > - 386 > > I do not have any 64-bits application yet to run on it, and I want to > save me some hassle. > Maybe sticking with 2.4 is the best solution? > > Thanks. > -- > Jerome Warnier <jwarnier@beeznest.net> > BeezNest s.a r.l. > > > -- > To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-amd64-REQUEST@lists.debian.org > with a subject of "unsubscribe".
