Today I noticed that a new relase of xulrunner is available in unstable so I downloaded and installed on etch by hand.It works like a charm, again.
It's now come through to testing. After upgrading I found that Iceweasel gets up and going and I can browse a number of web pages, so it does appear that the bug that I and others reported on Alpha is fixed.
But problems remain. When I browse to certain web pages iceweasel crashes. The pages include, for example:
www.nzherald.co.nzbugzilla.kernel.org (the home page renders okay, but when you enter a bug number and try to view a bug's page iceweasel crashes).
packages.debian.orgI have Javascript turned on but Java switched off always. No third-party cookies, and cookies only kept for session. Flash content is not common to all those pages that cause a crash, so I don't think my version of gnash is the problem. I can browse those pages without problems with iceape.
Gianluca (and others): Are you able to browse to those web pages I list above? Cheers Michael.
