If you just installed, maybe it would be easiest to reinstall with the testing 
installation system.  That way you will automatically have a 2.4 kernel and 
access to current versions of KDE, et al.

You can download the mini-iso testing installer (cdrom-mini.iso) at:

http://ftp.debian.org/dists/testing/main/installer-alpha/current/images/

PS:  Of course you can also easily switch to the testing distribution by 
changing your sources and upgrading, but I think above is marginally easier 
(since you have nothing to lose on a brand new system)...
