OK, it works also on Miata now, but only with kernel 2.6.x (only tested with kernel 2.6.7 and kernel 2.4.25).

The correct line in /etc/aboot.conf is:

 

1:1/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.7 ro root=/dev/sda1 video=pm2fb:800x600-24
