building XFree_4.4_rc1 from xsrc



Hi,
My system 164LX alpha, uname -a:
Linux casey229 2.4.23 #3 Mon Dec 15 19:47:46 EST 2003 alpha GNU/Linux,
testing /unstable ,
gcc -v gives:

building cvs xc from xfree86.org with 'make World' in xc stops with:
'/bin/sh :line 1: c++ command not found.' This is in -
/xc/lib/GLU/libnurbs/internals/
[error]:... stop ???
Anyone seen this and know how to fix it?
