I have the same machine and I wanted to install Debian too... The right boot
sequence of MILO command and parameters to boot from the CD for a Debian
Woody Stable is this one:
boot sr0:/boot/linux root=/dev/ram initrd=/boot/root.bin
it should work with no problems :)
