though.

Did you set CONFIG_ALPHA_SRM and CONFIG_ALPHA_LEGACY_START_ADDRESS
appropriately?

In any case, I'd advise you to upgrade to SRM. It boots much faster
and provides better PALcodes. You'd need to repartition, though.
