problems with Mozilla and Evolution

Hello,

I am currently running "sid" on COMPAQ Professional Workstation XP1000
with EV67 (Tsunami) for more than a year.  

Since 2 days I am having trouble with mozilla and  evolution after
i did an apt-get update and apt-get install.  When I try to access
any site I get immediately an error:

"The connection was refused when attempting to contact www.mozilla.org."

With evolution i get the error: 

Error while 'Fetching Mail':
Could not connect to pop3.gsf.de (port 110): Success

When i telnet to pop port and issue pop3 commands I get see all my messages
without problems.  

Right now I am using Konqueror as my browser and elm on my mail server.
They are working fine.

Is there any problem with GTK libraries as they are used by evolution and
mozilla ?? Any ideas how to fix this problem?

PS: i tried downgrading to woody, but no use.
