I don't know about tekram, but we've done some internal testing with
a 53c1010-based card from LSI Logic, IIRC, with good results running
under the stock sym,53c8xx driver.

We've also done some internal testing with the 39160, ie the
dual-channel version of the 29160, and it also was fine, IIRC.
