Re: Xfree86 on Trio64v+

I've read at http://www.xfree86.org/4.1.0/Status28.html#28 that S3 server included in XFree86 4.1 does not support old S3 cards.

I have a "00:0d.0 VGA compatible controller: S3 Inc. 86c764/765
[Trio32/64/64V+]" (or so says lspci) sitting in an AlphaStation 255. With
the addition of the magic incantation 'Option "no_pci_disconnect"' to
its Device section, this works fine under XFree86 3.3.

Thanks. My card gives exactly the same lspci output but adding that
option didn't seem to make any difference.

If it means anything I get the following odd message from the Xserver
when it starts up:

(--) S3: PCI: base address not correctly aligned or address conflict
base address changed from 0x0c000000 to 0xf8000000
