If I am not completely off track the 4/266 denotes that the processor is
of the EV4 type running at 266 MHz. So the patch might be your
friend. PLease have look at:
ftp://ftp.alphalinux.org/pub/Linux-Alpha/jensen/install/EV4-2.2.17.diff
This is the file for 2.2.17,but it should apply to anything from 2.2.16 to
18 (probably to more kernels, but those are the one's I tested it
with). Maybe you will have to make trhe changes by hand....
