I recently installed debian-linux on a alphastation 250. Everything was relatively painless. However, many xwindows applications lockup. I cannot discern a pattern. For example, xpaint and qcad work, but xfig does not. Most importantly, xmgrace, a motif plotting program I use a lot, is also a victim. Some of the openmotif demos also hang.
