Ugghh....I'll try to stuff an adaptec into a UP1x00 on Monday and boot a
2.4 and see what happens. Which adaptec are you using (2940, 2940U2W
etc...)? This was test-11-pre5 ?

Well, you could use ALSA (www.alsa-project.org).

I think the latest 2.2.x series has had much of this back ported.

Again, I know that RH are shipping USB with 7.0, not sure if that was
their backport or if it's in the latest 2.2.x

Neither :) I was using IDE at the time. Had a USB mouse working under X,
it was a good feeling.
