Are the X fonts affected by these package upgrades? I'm finding all sorts of
font problems right now on my Alpha which don't seem to be affecting IA32
systems. Example:
Running mkfontdir in misc font directory.../usr/bin/X11/mkfontdir: Duplicate
font names -misc-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed--13-120-75-75-c-60-iso8859-8
heb6x13.pcf.gz 6x13-ISO8859-8.pcf.gz
/usr/bin/X11/mkfontdir: unable to process font
/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc/6x13-ISO8859-8.pcf.gz, skipping
/usr/bin/X11/mkfontdir: Duplicate font names
-misc-fixed-bold-r-normal--13-120-75-75-c-70-iso8859-15
7x13euroB.pcf.gz 7x13B-ISO8859-15.pcf.gz
/usr/bin/X11/mkfontdir: unable to process font
/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc/7x13B-ISO8859-15.pcf.gz, skipping
/usr/bin/X11/mkfontdir: Duplicate font names
-misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--14-130-75-75-c-70-jisx0201.1976-0
7x14rk.pcf.gz 7x14-JISX0201.1976-0.pcf.gz
/usr/bin/X11/mkfontdir: unable to process font
/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc/7x14-JISX0201.1976-0.pcf.gz, skipping
done.
Running update-fonts-alias in misc font directory...done.
(That was the output of installing xfonts-base. I deleted the offending
files, thinking that they were some old cruft, then reinstalled xfonts-base,
but the very same files came back.)
Also xfonts-cjk refuses to install---I get xfonts-base instead. (I had
xfonts-cjk installed on my Alpha until a month ago but removed all the
Chinese stuff because to free up disk space. Now I can't get it back
apparently.) So rxvt-ml is now broken on my Alpha; no problems on an IA32
system with the same packages though.
Could these problems be related to other XF864 problems on Alpha? They
certainly seem to be Alpha-specific.
