I don't know maybe it was at typo when you sent that mail, but shouldn't there be a root=xxx in your boot flags? Also, IIRC SRM doesn't like symlinks.. so you may need to specify the exact location to the kernel. for example: b dka100 -fi /boot/vmlinux-2.2.14 -fl "root=/dev/sda8" HTH, Ron
