Dear Bert,

thank you for your help.

I am sorry, it took a few days until I could try what you suggested.

I fetched setserial 2.15 from potato and compiled.

Then I called ./setserial in the source directory with different
parameters, started minicom with 38400 Baud and send an 'a'. I caught
what I believe was the first bit of the 'a' with on oscilloscope
on the TX line:

./setserial /dev/ttyS1 spd_normal	25.8 us (38.76kBit/s)
./setserial /dev/ttyS1 spd_hi 17.2 us (58.14kBit/s)
./setserial /dev/ttyS1 spd_normal 8.56 us (116.8kBit/s)

Minicom v1.82 still has problems to set higher baudrates.
Later I tried the slink setserial 2.14 which was installed. It works as
good as the 2.15. I had tried it before I sent my initial mail but was not
successful then. Apparently, user error on my side.

Thank you very much for your support.

Yours,

Roland
