Thanks for the prompt help, guys!

I'm now running 2.0.34+alpha-patches+traps.c-patch, and everything appears
to be working very nicely.  I'll also take a look at that first 2.0.36
patch.

Now doing a complete upgrade from stuff mostly a year old ...
