Bug#1114896: xgboost: flaky autopkgtest on amd64: sometimes quick, sometimes times out

Source: xgboost
Version: 3.0.4-1
Severity: serious
User: debian-ci@lists.debian.org
Usertags: flaky

Dear maintainer(s),

I looked at the results of the autopkgtest of your package. I noticed that it regularly times out after 2:47h on amd64 while some runs are quick and everything in between. On other architectures the tests seem to only take minutes. I'm wondering if the test is extremely sensitive to the load of the system and/or the available memory and cores. Our amd64 worker has 64 cores and 256 GB RAM.

Because the unstable-to-testing migration software now blocks on
regressions in testing, flaky tests, i.e. tests that flip between
passing and failing without changes to the list of installed packages,
are causing people unrelated to your package to spend time on these
tests.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you need help and some more information
from our infrastructure.

Paul
