I assume hipblas-common was in preparatign for hipblaslt, as per Spaarsh's GSoC self-introduction?
Yes. The hipblaslt library is on Spaarsh's todo list. Spaarsh can speak to his planned schedule.
I'd say that hipblaslt is probably the most important ROCm library that is not yet packaged for Debian, but Spaarsh's focus is also more on packages that use ROCm than on ROCm itself.
I would need a newer rocblas and it seems that hipblaslt is a dependency of it.
I don't think hipblaslt is necessary at build-time for newer rocblas versions. It's strongly recommended to be available at runtime for best performance on CDNA 3 and RDNA 4 architectures, but I'm pretty sure it's optional.
