Re: Finishing the ROCm 6 update

Hello,

We really need to get rocm-hipamd uploaded if we're going to have any chance of getting everything migrated to LLVM 18 before Trixie. I think it is still possible, and I am willing to make a big push to get there. However, it's going to require a fair number of sponsored uploads to get packages into NEW:

- src:rocm-hipamd (libamdhip64-6)
- src:rocm-llvm (rocm-device-libs-18)
- src:rocblas (librocblas4)
- src:hipblas (libhipblas1)

I started to look at hipblas, but i think i hit a problem that it depends on rocblas and will switch to rocblas, is there someone else working on it ?

I encountered a problem with lapack, that make hipblas crash silently
I used the rebuild from AMD build chain
https://github.com/cbayle/ROCm/blob/debian-build/tools/rocm-build/docker/debian13/build_lapack.sh
and the problem disapeared
I will investigate a submit a merge/pull request if i find

I suspect there is something to do with a fortran flag, i already hit this issue when tying to use debian lapack with rocm 6.2 or 6.3 amd build
