Re: Have Card, Will Travel

I'm flexible, but most importantly I'd like to get to a point where setting up ROCM is as simple as installing a package / package-set. At the moment it does not seem to be that way, but I could be wrong?

Hey there, I have an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX - what can I do to help/participate in getting ROCM going on Debian?

The best contributions depend on what your individual skills and knowledge. What is your background and what are you interested in doing with your hardware? I expect that you would probably be best served by trying to improve things that you feel are currently broken, sub-optimal or insufficient.

I do have some suggestions in a "help needed" wiki page on Salsa [1]. I've also filed or commented on a few wishlist bugs for packages with AMD GPU support upstream that have not had that support enabled in Debian (lammps [2], petsc [3], kokkos [4], cupy [5]). If you use any of these packages or libraries, it might be nice to try building and using them on Debian and adding more detailed instructions or noting any blockers.
