What we decided back in july was using a hierarchical space for
configuration opions. You could then do:
mail-transport-agent/options
global options for MTA's
mail-transport-agent/www.debian.org/options
options for MTA's handling www.debian.org
mail-transport-agent/bugs.debian.org/options
options for MTA's handling bugs.debian.org
qmail/www.debian.org/options
options that are specific for qmail
Packages that share a common purpose could then also share options, with
the option of overriding them.
