Re: Orca modificer not working

Generally ORCA works best with Mate desktop.  I have used it on a Dell laptop with no problem.  Maybe you could install the Mate desktop along side the other desktop and login with that and see if it works better.

Subject: Orca modificer not working

Hi,

I just installed Debian 12.7 bookworm on an Lenovo Thinkpad X240 laptop
with the LXDE desktop enovirement and have some troubles using Orca.

The Orca modifier key should either be shift, alt, caps or insert, but
none of these works. I have tried all + space bar which should launch
Orca settings (As far as i know) - But nothing happens..

I have also tried to launch Orca settings by opening a terminal and run:
orca -s

This will launch fine, i can adjust the speed of the speech, so i went
to the bindings and choose insert for the bindings key (thinking thats
the Orca modifier key), but it just dont wanna work.

I have also upgraded Orca from 43 to 47.3, which gave some benefits, but
still the Orca modifier dosent seem to work?

Best kind regards
Kenneth
