Re: installing debian with vmware work station speech stops part way threw the installation

Hi, I tried that with no luck.  What else should I try to get audio working again?  Nick Gawronski

Hi Nick,
I have found that with VmWare, you need to press control + alt, which puts
you back into the host OS, and then under file in VmWare, you need to
re-enable the audio card, if it says it is checked, then that is not the
issue here.
I've noticed this on occasion with other Linux distros too, if audio stops,
you need to toggle back to the host and restart it.
HTH.

Subject: installing debian with vmware work station speech stops part way
threw the installation

Hi, On windows 11 pro I have tried to install debian 12 64 bit and found
that even when telling vmware work station to use the built in sound
card the installation freezes or at least speech stops no clue what is
causing this and no way to show it as at first speech starts normally
with no problems. I will usually be in the partitioning screen and
suddenly just luse speech. Putting the virtual machine to sleep that
has at least 4 gigs of ram and even tried with 8 with no luck. What is
the best way to provide more information about this issue so it can be
fixed? I have told vmware work station to use the sound card directly
and not the system default as that even causes more issues. Nick Gawronski
