Hi David,
I should've mention that this procedure happened when we want to do full disk encryption with LVM.
On other type of installation, I have no issue.
If you have your /home files on a separate partition, the manual installer gives you the option of NOT formatting that partition, picking it for the /home partition. Then only - typically - the root / partition and swap are formatted which takes only seconds.
Is there something I missed in your question?
Regards,
David

Subject: Skipping disk erase on Debian text-based installation
Hi all,
I wonder if we can avoid disk erase process during debian text-based
installation?
This process can take hours and it can be skipped on GUI based installation.
Unfortunately it is not accessible :)
Regards
