How did you get rid of pulse-audio? What are the necessary steps to configure this?

I do not think that we have the same problem because before the VMware update everything worked perfectly. In my case I think it is VMware related, unfortunatly :-(. Switching to another virtualizer is not possible because to security policies of my employer :-(.
