I'm not sure everybody's talking about the same "bookworm"…  I believe
this thread is about https://babluboy.github.io/bookworm, which is
definitely available on GNU/Linux.
There seems to be some confusion indeed.

is in Python and seems windows-only

https://babluboy.github.io/bookworm
is in vala and doesn't seem targetted towards accessibility.
