Package: dasher
Version: 4.2.0-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

I'd like to be able to use dasher to enter text, but dasher seems to
insist on writing to the currently active window, which for me is
dasher, since my WM is set up to let the focus follow the mouse.

If possible, dasher should decline the focus, and if not, input the text
to the window that had the focus last.

At least, dasher should warn (e.g. in the status bar) when it is
controling itself, unless that is a valid use case.

Thanks,
Joachim

Dear Joachim,

Thanks for your patience...

I believe what you are looking for is the direct mode. I have no idea
when it was added but it is present in the Jessie version already.

You can activate it by clicking a button on the interface, right next to
the Paste button.

Regards, Thibaut.
