Conditional compilation and runtime checks, depending on
WORDS_BIGENDIAN. See "grep -r WORDS_BIGENDIAN".

Therefore my reasoning: No problems reported in the other distribution
since the package was built in Jul 2013.

But it's OK if you decide otherwise. Maybe we find another solution...
