Re: Debian without screen

Sorry, this may be considered slightly out of topic, nevertheless...

Why not? It is the same question I posed a long while ago to the debian
laptop mailing list, when only few mostly irrelevant sections were left
in the xorg.conf file. It has been a great improvement over the recent
past to have a distribution able to automatically configure the graphics
card, but I can't see why a "pseudo" xfree or xorg configuration file
could not be automatically generated at the same time and taken into
account for customization, like in the case of accessibility, for
example.

Please don't misunderstand. I am not regretting the time when we had to
manually configure modes and refresh rate. I fully appreciate the
efforts made in this direction and the improved usability of the system.

What I am asking for is to keep text configuration files by default,
because they could be really useful in solving in a very simple and
generalized way plenty of problems, or just for documentation
and pedagogic purposes.

Thank you for the great work.
