I fear that we should begin with checking possible license issues.

For example the source tarball comes with a directory
julius/libsent/src/adin whose author is Akinobu LEE, and the copyrights
are:
 * Copyright (c) 2004-2005 Shikano Lab., Nara Institute of Science and Technology
 * Copyright (c) 2005-2007 Julius project team, Nagoya Institute of Technology
 * All rights reserved

Unfortunately, the license is unknown, is it?
