Yes. He can however upgrade config.{sub,guess} to the latest revisions
from
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/gitweb/?p=config.git;a=blob_plain;f=config.guess;hb=master
and
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/gitweb/?p=config.git;a=blob_plain;f=config.sub;hb=master
safely, they are completely backward-compatible.
