It never was.

There is no official location you can download it from. All the existing
installations I know of were done some years ago.

No. It is not even locked-in, it is also discontinued by IBM.
So, even if one would have some official download location to grab it from,
the license it originally shipped with had a time-limitation, IIRC.
It is sad to see such a good product die like this, after all, none
of the currently existing commercial speech synthesizers for Linux
do match ViaVoice's responsiveness and voice clarity, IMHO.
