We are not - by any means - at the stage where the installation of Debian
on 30 year old hardware is beginner friendly. There is still a lot of
work to be done and I think it is fair that anyone enthusiastic enough
to install Debian on such exotic hardware, should be able to set up
a serial console.
It will require much more testing, development and bug fixing to get the
installer on m68k to a state where we can consider it user friendly.

I understand your concern but we don't have the manpower to make everything
as polished as you would expected from a release on supported architectures.
