release name missing in path (was Re: 3.1r1 still not installable due to CD-ROM not detected?)

I tried to skip that step and ran into another problem that I reported
long time ago and - what's more important - got fixed sometime in April
last year, IIRC, in a cdrom-detect 1.06 package (that was unreleased at
that time). Hasn't it been released in time for 3.1 r1 yet?
