Not that I mind accepting free hardware, but it actually wouldn't be
very expensive to get RAM for it around here. I just haven't done it
yet. It was more of a joke than anything.

Someone else posted to the list that it had been done in the past, and
he offered to send a copy of the old patches.

On the DMA and the transfer rates, the Q840AV would be almost as
fast without the DMA as the IIfx would be with it. The IIfx is in
theory limited to 3MB/s due to the design of the NCR5380 core. In
practice, it probably won't even get that. I only get 70kB/s with
the current driver. Even directly out of the buffer cache is still
painful at 3.35 MB/s, so this is a pretty slow box these days.
