Re: mac boot disk in PC

And One more thing that i notice is that nothing is displayed on the screen and i am getting only a musical tone and the system stops with a blank screen. My friend says that the musical tone comes only if the system cannot boot.

Usually you'll see a black screen with a white unhappy face on if you're having system problems.

This is usually a memory problem. Maybe somebody stuck an incompatible memory stick in and gave up. Maybe the memory stick is loose. Easiest way to tell is to just take it out. Reboot with the built in memory on the system. If it reboots, fine. Take an eraser and clean the leads off and reinsert it. If this don't work. Try another module.

By the way, if you don't get past this thing, you'll never get linux or MacOS to boot. But the mere fact that you're getting noise is usually a good indication that you have a good system.

If you see a little black tit somewhere on the motherboard. Press it. This is equivalent to zapping the PRAM. That might help. You might have a dead battery. You probably do.
