machine freezes when writing to zip drive
Dear all,
I mounted my zip drive, created an ext2 filesystem on it with mkfs, then
I tried
copying a few dozen MB of data to it, and my machine completely frooze.
ctrl-alt-delete
didn't work, only a hard reset worked. Rebooted, tried mounting the zip
disk again,
but it contained errors. Then I ran fsck on it: another freeze.
I'd like to figure out what the problem is and fix it if possible. I'm
assuming doing that
with the stable release is rather pointless (it might be fixed in newer
release already).
Should I get the 'testing' or the 'unstable' version? I've tried to find
information on how
to switch from stable to testing|unstable, but haven't found anything. Did
I overlook
something and is there some information available somewhere?
Current setup:
- Debian 2.2 for m68k
- Amiga 2000
- Blizzard 2040 with 64MB memory
- zip drive connected to 2040 card (scsi)
- Cybervision 64/3D graphics card
- x-surf ethernet card
- hypercom 3z serial/parallel card
Erik
