Linux installation
Hello,
I'm new in the Linux world. I owe a Falcon 14 Mo + speedrezolution
card + 2 Go scsi HD + 2 Go ide HD + 4mm scsi minidat tape + 2x scsi cd-rom.
I downloaded files from /Debian/Dists/Potato and put them together
on a CD, as specified in the doc. Then I copied the contents of the Atari
directory on my HD, together with the Base2 file in a directory named Debian.
I carefully followed the instructions in the doc, until the reboot sequence
: video=keep caused my machine to crash, so I had to omit it.
Then, I tried to go further, and so went problems on :

There's no atari french keyboard configuration available. I had to use
instead the azerty in the i386
folder, but then I miss some useful characters such <
and >.
-
I can't access the GEM partitions nor my CD-ROM anymore
: I tried mounting them, unsuccessfully.
-
Due to the problem listed just above, I couldn't
install extra packages.
But, as I wrote above, I'm a newcomer in the linux
world. so maybe (surely) I did something wrong. Then it would be nice if
someone could glance at the list that is together with this mail, and tell
me what more to do, and how ?
