I have the following keymaps available on the potato Mac (with double
cheese:)

brill@inkling:~$ dpkg --search 'mac-*.kmap*'
console-data: /usr/share/keymaps/mac/mac-de2-ext.kmap.gz
console-data: /usr/share/keymaps/mac/mac-fr3.kmap.gz
console-data: /usr/share/keymaps/mac/mac-de-latin1-nodeadkeys.kmap.gz
console-data: /usr/share/keymaps/mac/mac-us-ext.kmap.gz
console-data: /usr/share/keymaps/mac/mac-us-std.kmap.gz
console-data: /usr/share/keymaps/mac/mac-fr2-ext.kmap.gz
brill@inkling:~$

both -de- keymaps work with an extended (102+ keys) german ADB Keyboard.

They differ in the placement of the characters @{[]}\~| available via
Alt-Graphics on german keyboards (and they have the freedom to do so since
Apple wont't print indications on where to find these characters onto its
keyboards).

mac-de2-ext mostly uses the same keys as IBM PC + compatible.
I have (and use) a self-made .kmap derived from mac-us-ext IIRC which does
this strictly instead of mostly. If somebody's interested I can donate it.

mac-de-isolatin1-nodeadkeys uses the funny keys MacOS has chosen (and
Mac people are used to).
BTW it doesn't work out of the box, loadkeys won't load it without the
following patch
--------------8<--------------------8<------------------
@@ -1,6 +1,6 @@
 # de-latin1-nodeadkeys-apple.map: German keymap for Apple keyboards
 # Broken in several respects.
-keymaps 0-2,4,6,8,12
+keymaps 0-3,4-6,8,10,12
 strings as usual

 keycode 53 = Escape Escape
