No network on Quadra 700

Hi
Have been trying to get the latest stable version running on a Quadra 700.
It boots nicely but can't access the network in a proper way. I've looked
through the mailinglist and tested what there was with no success.
When looking on traffic with tcpdump from another unixbox one can see that
the quadra does arp who-has gateway_IP and  receives responses too that
request. Also when telneting the quadra it responds with arp reply and the
correct hardwareadress.

I've had NetBSD 1.3.3 up and running so the ethernetcard is not broken.

Any suggestion on what to do would be most appreciated.
