Re: [Debconf-team] Questions for the 新竹市 Team!

Dear pollo,

We have two backup venus, YZU and NTU. They are both affordable for us.
If NCTU doesn't work, we can just contact them for a backup.

The chairman of the department already wrote us a mail in Chinese which
promised to sponsor both venue and accommodation.
I've asked him to write it in English and directly send to debconf-team
mailing list. I've already received that mail but seems the mailing-list
blocks him? Or maybe it is because the chairman doesn't subscribe the
mailing-list?

We plan to talk to the restaurants inside the campus. To allow us to
make "tickets". So after that they can charge us by giving the tickets
back to us. Actually there was tickets for students in the campus
years ago. What we need to do is just redo that again.

In NCTU campus, there is a true vegan restaurants. We will point out
that restaurant clearly so people won't eat any animal byproducts.
Also, we plan to issue special tickets that can only used for that
restaurant. So vegan people will have that special tickets and they
can't do anything wrong because regular restaurants won't accept it.

For gluten-free, we are figuring that out. Most Chinese food are
gluten-free. But we need to talk to the restaurants inside the campus to
see which one can promise it. And also issue another special tickets for
special needs.

> 5 - How easy is it in 新竹市 to get by speaking only English?

Most of residents in Hsinchu work in high tech companies, so it shall be
no problem when speaking only English in Hsinchu.

Also we've checked all the public transportation do provide English
translations. For example, the bus will show English stops before
arriving on its LED banner.

We expect 350 ppl this year. But for NCTU, we have another backup. If
there are too many people, we can have another bigger room for 500 people.

Yours Sinerely,
Paul
