[Debconf-team] Events scheduled after 21:00

Hi!

There seems to be some conflict about this, and I wanted to leave an opinion

I think it's perfectly acceptable that video team members don't want
to work during or after dinner. I don't oppose the decision,
everybody should be able to have dinner in peace.

Last night, what was done was leave the speaker and audience cameras
in such a way that they could be streamed with pic in pic for the
whole talk, and leave the audience mic on, so that people could talk
and that got taped. This produces a stream of less quality than the
normal streams, but it still allows people not at debconf to be able
to watch and participate in the talks.

I know that the stream was particularly useful for the perl meeting,
where two of the important members were not present and the stream
allowed them to coordinate their work with the rest of the group.

So, my point is, if there's a solution that doesn't requiere video
team members being there, but still allows people to work together,
why shouldn't it be applied? If the worry is related to the inferior
quality of the recordings, then it might be said that those events are
only streamed, but not recorded, since they are only bofs which aren't
too useful once the meeting is done.
