Who has the tapes from this? I'd love to get a copy. If it's just a
few hours of mini-DV tape I could make a copy at Debconf5. If it's
quite a bit of material I could take it home and mail it back later.

If it can be made to work reliably, live streaming + recording sounds
great.

I have two cameras, two tripods, and one wireless microphone I can bring
to Debconf.

Both cameras are cheap NTSC mini-DV firewire models. One has a
microphone input but doesn't work with Linux. The other has no
microphone input but works well with Linux.

Very true. Dumping, editing, rendering, mastering, testing, and burning
a two hour DVD from two camera sources using free software takes me a
full day when there are no problems along the way. It's an incredible
amount of work for something that sounds quick and easy.

If the equipment I have will be useful to the effort, I'll gladly help
out. If it will not be useful, I'd still like to set it up for
recording on my own if it's allowed. It doesn't hurt to have a backup
plan.
