Hi all, Today is May 21st, only 2 months left before the most exciting event of Debian community! I can tell you we are proud to organize DebConf19, and we are counting days to have you here with us in Curitiba. Looking the website, I can see 303 attendees registered (185 confirmed) until now. It's lower than I expected, even so, I am pretty sure everyone will have a great time in Brazil. Sorry if you won't be able to come... :-p Well, I heard Content Team is building a very nice program, with all kind of topics about Debian, and a special Open Day for our local community. Bursary Team has worked to maximize the number of people getting bursaries to travel to Curitiba, thanks for that! Accommodation will be in a nice hotel, and we have talked with restaurant nutritionist at venue to guarantee all meals with quality for everyone. We are working to describe the ingredients in our brazilian food :-) We are planning Cheese and Wine Party and Conference Dinner to be awesome, with food, drink and music. Yes, we will have caiprinha :-) We are very happy to be able to give a new projector as a gift to UTFPR. We are facing hard times in free public universities, and it can be our legacy to them. If you will arrive in Curitiba before july 14th, please contact us if you need some help with accommodation. Brazil is a big country with all kind of touristic places. Well, we don't have snow, but we have beaches (Northeast still warm on July), mountains, rivers, and so on. By the way, in Paraná State you can visit Foz do Iguaçu to see Iguaçu Falls [1] (sorry north-americans, but they are much beatiful than Niagara Falls). It's one hour by plane or 12 hours by bus, from Curitiba. You can also visit Parque Estadual de Vila Velha [2] [3] for hiking and see stone formations. It's one hour by car from Curitiba. Remember after DebConf19, there are some events in São Paulo [4]. Finally, thank you all from DebConf Team for being so patient and comprehensive with us from local team. We have organized free software events before, but as you know, this is our first time organizing a DebConf. For some of us, this is the first DebConf at all. So, we are here to learn, work hard, and have fun with you all. See you!
